Connecticut Alliance to End Sexual Violence
The mission of Connecticut Alliance to End Sexual Violence is to create communities free of sexual violence and to provide culturally affirming, trauma-informed advocacy, prevention, and intervention services centered on the voices of survivors. The Alliance envisions and hopes to create a world in which everyone believes sexual violence is a preventable problem and actively plays a role in ending it.

Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence
The Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence (CCADV) is the recognized leading voice for victims and those who serve them in Connecticut. CCADV is a social change organization, working at the state and national level to create and implement policy changes to strengthen Connecticut’s response to domestic violence. CCADV is the voice against domestic violence across Connecticut. They lead a statewide network focused on advocacy, outreach and education. Their work transforms political, economic and social responses to end domestic violence in Connecticut.
Center for Children’s Advocacy at UConn School of Law
Their mission: To protect and promote the legal rights of Connecticut’s low-income children and youth so they have equitable opportunities for good health, a quality education and a successful transition to adulthood.
CCA provides legal representation and advocates for system reforms to ensure at-risk children’s basic needs are met and they receive appropriate services from the juvenile justice, education, child welfare, health care and court systems.
AIDS Ministries Program of Greater Danbury
Interfaith AIDS Ministry of Greater Danbury, Inc. (IAM) offers critical support services to families faced with the nutritional, physical, and spiritual challenges of living with HIV/AIDS while providing vital education programs that respond to the greater community. They serve the Greater Danbury area that includes Bethel, Brookfield, New Fairfield, Newtown, Redding, Sherman, and New Milford.
Apex Community Care
Apex Community Care (formerly the AIDS Project of Greater Danbury, APGD) is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization that has been serving Western Connecticut since the AIDS crisis began in the mid 1980’s. Founded by a group of local residents motivated by a passionate concern for people living with HIV/AIDS and the impact of the AIDS pandemic on the local community, the organization has helped thousands of local residents through their services.
Their mission is to advocate for and provide services to people living with HIV/AIDS, mental health and substance use disorders, their families, and loved ones and to actively promote education and prevention in the community.
Open Communities Alliance
Open Communities Alliance is a Connecticut-based civil rights organization that promotes access to opportunity for all people through education, organizing, advocacy, research, and partnerships. The Alliance works to build an urban-suburban interracial coalition to support policies that lead to housing choice.
Connecticut Students for a Dream
CT Students for a Dream (C4D) was founded in 2010 by a group of undocumented students and allies from across Connecticut. Initially coming together to discuss how it could advocate for the Federal DREAM Act, this small group organized a CT “Dream Summit” to kick off the DREAM movement in Connecticut, where over 30 students attended, and were trained on how to organize for the DREAM Act. C4D then held Connecticut’s first “Undocumented & Unafraid: Coming Out” event in the state, where students shared their stories of being undocumented and came out publicly to their communities, a first in CT.
The Commission on Women, Children and Seniors (CWCS)
The Commission on Women, Children and Seniors (CWCS) is a non-partisan arm of the Connecticut General Assembly. As staff to the legislature, the CWCS researches best practices, coordinates stakeholders, and promotes public policies that are in the best interest of Connecticut’s underserved and underrepresented women, children and older adults.
The agency recognizes that the experiences and needs of each population, while interconnected, are unique and may require individual public policy action.
